Key responsibilities will include:

• Producing the monthly management reports to the agreed timetable
• Analysing variances and exploring potential and actual problems with the budget holders
• Preparing regular cash flow statements and making appropriate recommendations regarding the cash requirements

The successful candidate will ideally be fully qualified with a track record in commercial management accounting. Strong communication skills and a customer focused outlook are also essential.

Main Duties

• Batching, coding and approving of invoices
• Invoice processing
• Reconciling Bank and supplier statements
• Preparing and processing weekly payment runs
• Contacting creditors on a daily basis to ensure that queries are dealt with on time
• Ensuring that invoices are paid within the clients terms

The client require someone who has a proven track record of working within an Accounts Payable department within a medium sized organisation,  preferably within the Public Sector; but must have experience and be confident in using the Open Accounts accounting package. This is for an immediate start.

• Providing assistance with the preparation of information for monthly budgeting and service area expenditure

You will need to have a good grasp of Oracle Financials, if not with the very latest version then with one of the most recent versions. Key responsibilities:

• Review and challenge forecasting models from business areas to ensure every aspect of the faculty is accounted to avoid budgetary over spend. Monitoring and interpreting income and expenditure reports, balance sheet information and management accounting measures are a key factor in this role

The successful candidate will ideally have redundancy process knowledge. You will be responsible for redundancy meetings with employees who are at risk, follow up paper-work, advice to employees and supporting the HR Business Partner with the full consultation process.

You will need to:

You will also be involved in more mundane and admin based tasks. This role would suit an experienced HR advisor or a Senior HR administrator who has some Employee Relations knowledge; someone who is a quick learner and who is looking to make the step up.

Before entering the next phase of this process the client is about to undertake some detailed design work to develop a detailed target model.

Main Duties:

• You will work with the Project Managers to develop organisation structures for the new look service
• Undertake detailed analysis to develop description of finance and performance processes including inputs/outputs, internal customer needs and baselines of performance etc
• Work with change managers to develop illustrative examples of internal ‘customer journeys’
• Develop accurate implementation costs for the implementation of the new model – working with the council’s HR department to do so
• Support  the tasks necessary to undertake an Equality Impact Assessment
• Write business cases for the new organisation model
• Work with the Project Manager to develop a detailed programme plan for implementation of the new structures
• Perform  project risk assessments to identify major risks, estimate risk impacts and determine mitigating actions and provide regular reports to the Project Manager
• Strong stakeholder engagement is also paramount

You will have a detailed knowledge across a range of specialist disciplines such as business case writing, process design, finance models and target operating models.

Have a good knowledge of project management along with a solid understanding of Local Government policy, transformation agendas and good practice

You will have worked in a similar role for either a Local Authority or a large public sector organisation, preferably with a background in Finance or Performance.
